The Intake FIND Two-Day training is designed for intake workers who initiate investigations of abuse, neglect, maltreatment and exploitation for their agency. While this training is not a forensic Interviewing training, the training is founded in forensic interviewing best practices with considerations for asking open-ended questions on the phone when someone has concerns for the a child or vulnerable adult in their community. Intake workers understanding question types, dynamics of victimization, the process of disclosure, and necessary accommodations for potential clients can help to make intake reports more thorough and assist investigators with helpful information before an investigation begins. This training complements the FIND suite of interviewing training for investigators. This training will create continuity of question types from the beginning to the end of an investigation for all workers involved in the case.
Number of Attendees: 75 Max
Number of Instructors: 2 for 2 days
*MCG will request current training practices, scripts or other intake training materials at least 45 days prior to the training to prepare for specific county and state training needs. As part of this training process, supervisors and/or administrators who oversee intake will also be asked to participate in the training or meet with training staff for one hour on a day prior to the first day of training. MCG believes in promoting agency-wide change so understanding recommended practices will be necessary for all staff and administrators involved in the intake process.
